Responsible and sustainable business – "These issues are already ingrained in all of us"
At Finnchain, responsibility runs through everything – from daily practices to the entire supply chain. As Environmental Manager Jenina Ruohonen puts it, “these issues are already ingrained in all of us” – and the same applies to subcontractors.
Finnchain is strongly committed to responsibility. How is this reflected in the company's operations?
"The perspective of responsibility is present in everything we do. These issues are already ingrained in all of us”, assures Environmental Manager Jenina Ruohonen.
Finnchain’s business is responsible and sustainable at its core. Finnchain’s products represent environmental technology and are used in water purification.
"We do not produce emissions, so our environmental work focuses on raising awareness and regularly training our staff. The response has been positive. For example, the importance of recycling is well understood”, says Ruohonen.
Finnchain operates in accordance with the Addtech Group's ethical guidelines. The right to belong to a union, occupational health, occupational safety, and similar issues are considered fundamental by Finns. Finnchain's ethical guidelines go even further, covering values such as diversity and sustainable development.
“Once a year, we go through all the basics with our staff. We also have a whistleblower channel through which suspected misconduct can be reported”, tells Ruohonen.

Same ethical guidelines apply to subcontractors
Finnchain also takes responsibility for its supply chain. The same ethical guidelines apply to subcontractors.
"We are currently conducting a round of audits to check and ensure that everything is in order. Responsibility is a very important value, alongside trust and quality.
What is examined and asked during these audit rounds?
”There are many questions. The key themes are the environment, responsibility, quality systems, personnel matters, and the order and delivery chain. We also go through development ideas and how cooperation could be further developed”, explains Ruohonen.
“We want to maintain our good reputation”
As part of its responsibility, Finnchain strives to find subcontractors in the local area, if possible.
Ruohonen praises the company owner for strong support for responsibility work. Addtech provides training for its own personnel.
Ruohonen is not only the environmental manager at Finnchain, but also a financial expert.
"Finnchain has a really good reputation. We want to maintain it so that customers and distributors can continue to trust us. Finnchain manages its financial affairs correctly," says Ruohonen.
