As Sales Manager at Finnchain, I am primarily responsible for the Asian market, with Sweden as a separate area. Among Asian countries, China and South Korea are strong markets for us, and we also operate in countries such as Japan. India is an emerging market.

My tasks include preparing quotations and pricing, supporting our agents, and maintaining active communication with them. A central part of the sales work also involves attending international trade fairs.

CLEARLY AT THE POINT

I work mainly at our office in Rauma, as well as remotely from my home office. Sales work also involves client meetings, so travel is an essential part of the job. Most recently, in mid-May, I traveled with our CEO Krister Stenbom to Taiwan and South Korea to meet with our agents and customers.

I started working at Finnchain Oy in June 2024. My extensive sales experience is crucial in this role. I have about ten years of experience in the process industry at a cardboard mill, which has given me valuable insight for my current position. In addition, I have worked in project sales for renovation projects in the construction industry, and have carried out various sales tasks in sectors such as ERP systems and forestry machinery.

CLEARLY FOR KNOWLEDGE

While the technical aspects of sales are quite similar worldwide, cultural differences become especially evident in negotiations and customer relationship management. Although some matters can be handled remotely, I consider face-to-face meetings very important, as they allow for a deeper connection with the customer – which in turn helps me understand their needs and expectations more thoroughly.

Enjoying working with people is essential in sales, so sociability and communication skills are emphasized in daily work. Determination and decisiveness are also key. At the core of everything is a genuine interest in developing the customer’s business and simplifying their everyday operations – this forms the foundation for long-lasting and successful collaboration.
